Hi, I'm Iván G. Torre, a senior applied AI researcher at Oracle with a diverse interdisciplinary background spanning aerospace engineering, physics, complex systems, computational science, linguistics, bioinformatics and cognitive sciences. My current research focuses on:

• Speaker diarization (detecting who is speaking and when)

• Automatic speech recognition

• Large language models (LLMs)

• AI applications in industry, with a focus on healthcare

• The theory and applications of deep neural networks

• Linguistic laws and computational linguistics

• The intersection of social sciences, cognitive sciences, and statistical physics

I earned my PhD in Physics of Complex Systems from the Polytechnic University of Madrid in 2019, receiving the Extraordinary PhD award. During my PhD, I was a Fulbright-Schuman grantee at UC Merced, a DAAD grantee at Johannes Gutenberg University in Germany, and an intern at Telefónica R&D in Barcelona. In 2020, I joined Vicomtech to work on European AI technology transfer projects in speech recognition, edge computing, security, and federated learning. After a postdoc at the Language and Speech Laboratory (EHU) in 2022, I finally joined Oracle as a senior AI researcher in early 2023.
